What is the new Rado Anatom Automatic Summer Edition like?

Rado reinforces its mechanical watchmaking offering with the launch of three new references within the Anatom Automatic line, a sub-collection that forms part of its iconic Anatom series.

These pieces, presented in summer 2025, share the same architecture but offer different dials and bracelets, in tune with a colour palette designed for the summer season.

The Rado Anatom collection: the story of an iconic silhouette

The Anatom collection first appeared in the 1980s, at the height of industrial design applied to watchmaking. Rado opted for ergonomic shapes, cutting-edge materials such as high-tech ceramic, and an aesthetic that deliberately differed from the classic Swiss canon. The rectangular silhouette with rounded corners, clean lines and the seamless integration of the bracelet into the overall design offered a contemporary alternative that appealed to a younger, more cosmopolitan audience.

In 2023, Rado relaunched this family with an updated version: Anatom Automatic. In this sub-collection, the brand introduced Swiss automatic calibres in an organically designed case, combining the legacy of 1980s design with the taste for mechanical watchmaking that has made a strong comeback in the last decade. The ergonomic shape of the case, which fits perfectly on the wrist, remains one of its most recognisable hallmarks.

The three new models share the same technical architecture characteristic of the watch series: a high-tech plasma ceramic rectangular case, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, a visible screw-down case back and water resistance up to 50 metres. At the heart of each piece is the Rado calibre R766 automatic movement, with a power reserve of up to 72 hours.

The case retains its slim profile (9.3 mm thick) and comfortable fit (32.5 mm wide by 46.3 mm long), with a slightly curved shape that adapts to the contour of the wrist without compromising visual presence.

The main variations are found in the dials and bracelets, where Rado has applied a summery, sophisticated yet unpredictable palette with lemon yellow, grapefruit red and lime green dials.

The new versions of the Rado Anatom Automatic stand out for their dials inspired by summer fruits, accompanied by matching rubber straps. The case features an advanced ceramic bezel and crown, while the centre is made of steel with a black PVD coating. The single-piece sapphire crystal follows the curvature of the case, and the watch measures 32.5 mm wide, 46.3 mm long and 11.3 mm high, with a water resistance of 50 metres.

The lacquered dials feature a gradient that darkens towards the edge, where they merge with the black bezel. The applied hour markers and hands are rhodium-plated and feature white Super-LumiNova. The date appears discreetly at 6 o’clock. The lemon and grapefruit-coloured dials have a matte finish, while the lime green dial has a satin finish. The date window is camouflaged in the black gradient.

Each model comes with a fluorinated rubber strap in the same colour as the dial, offering flexibility, durability and resistance to wear and acids. The watch is powered by the R766 calibre, based on the ETA 2892-A2, and has a power reserve of 72 hours.
