The design of square watches is not common in watchmaking due to the technical difficulties involved, particularly when integrating mechanical movements, which are usually designed for round cases. This in-house manufactured movement, the HUB1280, features a flyback chronograph and column wheel, allowing chronograph functionality without the need to stop the mechanism before resetting it. The movement is displayed through the sapphire crystal that forms the dial, a feature common to Hublot models, allowing wearers to observe the complex mechanical system at work.

The Square Bang takes up characteristic Hublot design elements, such as the six screws visible on the bezel and the modular construction of the case. These details give it visual continuity with the Big Bang line, although its square silhouette distinguishes it as a bolder option within the brand’s portfolio. The materials used are the usual Hublot materials, marked by innovation and durability. These include titanium, high-tech ceramic and King Gold (an 18-carat gold alloy exclusive to the brand), as well as Magic Gold, a gold alloy offering superior scratch resistance. These materials are carefully selected to ensure both the robustness of the watch and its aesthetic appeal.

In terms of dimensions, the collection comes in a 42 mm size, which offers a balanced presence on the wrist, suitable for those seeking a piece of impact without sacrificing comfort. The 100-metre water resistance provides additional functionality, allowing the watch to maintain its performance even in more demanding situations, such as water activities.

The Square Bang’s straps, made of structured rubber, reinforce its sporty character, while its chocolate bar-inspired texture adds a distinctive touch to the overall design.
