History of Bume&Mercier

Baume&Mercier began its watchmaking venture in 1830 by brothers Louis-Victor and Célestin Baume in the Swiss town of Les Bois as a comptoir horologuer, or watchmaking establishment. In 1918, William Baume, grandson of one of the founders, joined forces with French watchmaker Paul Mercier, leading to the creation of the iconic Baume&Mercier brand in Geneva.

Riviera

Riviera is Baume&Mercier’s sports collection, inspired by the nautical watches of the 1970s and 1980s. Its first model was produced in 1973 and since then its models have been characterised by a round or octagonal case in steel or pink gold, with a diameter ranging from 27 mm to 43 mm.

Baume

Baume is the brand’s most eco-friendly and customisable collection, created in 2018 as an independent line. Its watches have a round or oval case made of recycled steel or anodised aluminium, with a diameter ranging from 30 mm to 42 mm. This Baume et Mercier signature line differs from previous ones in that it features lugs and can also be customised with different interchangeable straps made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton, cork or linen.
